How to Choose the Right Imam Zamin for Your Nikah or Engagement
· Beri Damad
An Imam Zamin is one of the most meaningful pieces at a Nikah, engagement or baat pakki. It carries blessings and prayers for protection, and it is often the first thing families choose together. At Beri Damad, every Imam Zamin is sold as a pair, one for the bride and one for the groom. If you are choosing for the first time, here is a simple way to pick the right one.
1. Choose the design: Ya Ali & Ya Fatima or Mashallah
Ya Ali & Ya Fatima pairs carry the names of Imam Ali (AS) and Bibi Fatima (SA). Ya Ali is for the groom and Ya Fatima is for the bride. This pair is most often preferred by Shia families.
Mashallah pairs carry the word Mashallah, meaning "what Allah has willed", a heartfelt way of giving thanks and asking for blessings on the couple. Mashallah pairs are the popular choice among Sunni families.

2. Pick a colour that matches the outfits
Our Imam Zamins come in three classic colours:
- Bridal red, the traditional choice for red bridal and Nikah outfits.
- Emerald green, rich and festive, beautiful against gold, ivory and pastel outfits.
- Pure white, soft and elegant for white, ivory or light outfits.
A good rule: pick the colour that will stand out against the outfits, not disappear into them.
3. Decide on the finish
- Gold embroidery with pearls and tassels, our signature, richest look. See the Fancy Ya Ali & Ya Fatima Embroidered Imam Zamin.
- Traditional golden zardozi work on velvet, a classic, heritage feel. See the Velvet Imam Zamin with Zardozi Work.
- Golden beadwork, our most festive Mashallah pair. See the Mashallah Imam Zamin with Fancy Gold Beadwork.
- Pearl-edged and simple, timeless and understated. See the Mashallah Oval and Mashallah Classic pairs, or the Ya Ali & Ya Fatima Embroidered Imam Zamin.
4. Order in good time
Our Imam Zamins are made in Quetta and delivered across Pakistan. Same-day delivery may be available within Quetta, and orders to other cities usually arrive in 3–5 business days, so order a little ahead of your event.
